The inspiration comes from a picture of the New York City skyline at sunset. What draws my attention the most in the photo are the silhouettes of the skyscrapers; the concrete jungle is created by a lot of straight lines. I can use many rectangles to recreate the shape of NYC under the sunset in my work. I try my best to use rectangles to replicate every building in the picture. Then, I use white lines to demonstrate the indoor lights from the office or apartment rooms. The background color was inspired by the 'Empire Gold' color on the NY license plate.
